UK Market Policy
Effective Date: 19th May 2025
Last Updated: 19th May 2025
At Compet Care, we are committed to responsible pet care practices in every market we serve. This policy outlines our operational principles and restrictions applicable to users and service providers in the United Kingdom (UK).
1. No Pet Selling Policy
Compet Care does not support, facilitate, or permit the sale or commercial trade of pets on our platform in the UK.
We strongly believe in ethical pet adoption and welfare-first practices.
- Listings or advertisements for the sale or resale of animals are strictly prohibited.
- Any attempt to post or promote such activities may result in immediate removal of the listing and account suspension or termination.
- We encourage adoption through registered rescue centers or charities.
Why?
This policy aligns with UK animal welfare laws, including The Animal Welfare Act 2006, and supports our mission to promote ethical treatment of all animals.
2. No Pet Boarding Services in the UK
We currently do not offer or facilitate any pet boarding, pet hotel, or kennel-related services in the UK through the Compet Care platform.
- Users will not be able to search for, book, or provide pet boarding services.
- Compet Care does not take responsibility for any off-platform arrangements made between users and third parties for boarding.
This restriction is in place to ensure compliance with local licensing laws and to prevent unregulated care that may compromise animal welfare.
3. Services Available in the UK
While we restrict certain services in the UK, Compet Care offers a range of compliant and supportive features for UK-based pet owners:
- Pet Wellness & Grooming Appointments (mobile/home-based where permitted)
- Vet Video Consultations
- Pet Health Records & Digital Pet Profiles
- Educational & Training Courses for aspiring groomers
- E-commerce Marketplace for pet care products (no live animals or animal-based testing products)
4. Compliance with UK Law
We are committed to operating in accordance with UK laws and ethical standards. We regularly review our practices to ensure compliance with:
- The Animal Welfare Act 2006
- The Pet Animals Act 1951
- DEFRA Guidelines on commercial boarding and sales
- GDPR and data protection requirements
